History-
Flemington is the best-known racecourse in Australia. It is the oldest continuing metropolitan racecourse – there have been races here every year since 1840. It is the most significant racing heritage site in the country and in 2006 it was placed on the National Heritage List.
The Board-
A Member of the VRC Committee since 1993, Mr Fitzroy was elected Vice Chairman in November 1998 and Chairman of the Club in July 2003. Mr Fitzroy has had a lifelong interest in racing as an owner for the past 30 years and as a breeder for the past decade.
