Flemington Racecourse

Car

Access for private events on non-race days is through the main gate of Epsom Road - Flemington Drive. Directions are provided to whichever of our many car parks has been set aside for your event, with attendants on duty to direct traffic.

Tram

Take the no. 57 tram, which departs from the corner of Elizabeth and Flinders Streets. Disembark at Stop 30 - the traffic lights adjacent to the Flemington Drive entrance.

Train

If you are using regular scheduled train services, Newmarket is the nearest station. You can catch a tram to Flemington from the stop on Racecourse Road. Newmarket is on the Broadmeadows line.

Metro trains from Flinders Street or Southern Cross Stations can be privately booked for any other day. Please contact your Flemington Event Sales Executive for details.

Buses

Flemington is easily able to accommodate large numbers of coaches. Companies that can provide a privately chartered service include Cobb & Co, Murrays and Dysons.

Ferries, Boats & Private Cruises

Ferry services operate from the city centre to Flemington along the Maribyrnong River. Moorings are available for boats and water taxis, with no permit required. Private cruises can also be arranged through Melbourne Riverboat Cruises. Please, contact your Flemington Event Sales Executive for details.

Helicopters

For those who want to make a really spectacular entrance, permits to land helicopters at the centre are available. If you don't own your own helicopters, you can book one through Helimax on 1800 359 464.

The Event Centre

Because Flemington has the capacity to accommodate huge crowds on a few days of the year, everyone who attends a special private or corporate event on non-race days enjoys the luxury of very easy access and ample parking.

The complex is just 5km west of the CBD and 15km from Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine, with parking for up to 6000 vehicles. All of our venues have disabled access, with reserved parking close to each of the major buildings.

For guests travelling long distances, or anyone who simply wants a relaxed end to the evening, the 4½-star Quest serviced apartments provide stylish on-site accommodation.
